Trash Wing Trico
The plastic wing sits in the surface film, giving these flies more flotation than most spent mayflies while also closely resembling the transparent wings of the naturals. The unique wings, extra long long split tails, and the realistic body make the imprint in the surface film and profile of this fly on point.
The plastic wings can cause 7x tippet to twist , but I haven’t had a problem fishing these on a long piece of 6x.
I usually fish these on 24+ inches of 6x and have had good success with this pattern. Tied on a Firehole 419 competition dry fly hook.
